Desk Organizer Gift Box

Today we made a desk organizer gift box. This would be a wonderful teacher gift, birthday gift, just about any occasion. Here are the measurements and the video.

Start off with a 12x12 piece of paper, the heaver the better for this project.
Score at 3 and 9 inches
Turn 180 degrees and score at 5 and 7 inches.
Fold and burnish score lines
Cut up on center score lines 5 & 7 on both sides
If you want to reinforce the bottom of the box this is where you need to cut your chipboard/cereal box piece and put in as shown on the video. This piece should not be any larger than 1 7/8"x5 7/8", glue the chipboard down and fold over the two flaps you just cut.

Put your paper back in your cutter with the flaps on one end and remove 1 3/4" from the two opposite flaps on same end. As shown in the video.
On the flaps on the other end you will need to score each side at 1" and 11"

First Pocket: 8 1/2x4 1/4 score at 1 1/4" on 2 shorts sides and 1 long side cut corners out at angles as shown on video.
Second and Third Pocket: 5 1/2x2" and 4 1/2x2" score at 1/2" and 1 " on both ends of both pieces.

Small pockets: 3x2" score on 2 short and 1 long side at 1/2", you will need 2 of these.

Booklet: 2 pieces of paper at 4x2 1/2" score on one piece at 1/4", this will be the front. Cut copy paper to go inside at 3 3/4"x2 1/4" punch holes in top and put brads through. Round bottom corners if desired.

Circle for pen: Take a pen that is larger around and roll the paper around the pen. Cut it to side and glue ends together. Put score tape on seam and glue down.

Lid 10 3/4x 6 3/8" score at 2 1/8" on all 4 sides, cut corners and trim out angle piece.

Decorate the inside and out as you wish. Beautiful and easy project. But oh so useful.
