Five Point Star For July 4th Decorations

Special Finds From The Attic!

Who said you couldn't find beautiful treasures in the Attic? Well with this collection from Blue Fern you will be absolutely swept away. It makes you want to go up in the attic and see what treasures you can find. I know I say this every time on the Blue Fern collections but with this one it takes me back quite a few years when as a child we use to go in the attic and play with all the wonderful old treasures we would find. We would play dress up and pretend we were grown ups lol. It has been so much fun to go back in time and remember those special days playing in the attic at my grandmothers house.

Find your treasures and special memories with this beautiful collection, "Attic Charm".

The video will be up today so you can see everything up close. Just click HERE and subscribe.

You can purchase this collection at either one of our stores.

Stackable Storage Decor'

Today I finish a project I had started working on before Presley had her surgery. I absolutely love it and am looking forward to using them in my craft room. Lots of storage as well as a beautiful piece.

Here is the link to the video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk8PbBC2Ksc

And below is the measurements and some assembly pics.

Hope you enjoy and let us know if you make one we would love to see yours.

First you should start with some chipboard, now this can be chipboard from mailing boxes, cereal boxes etc. But if you use cereal boxes you might want to put two layers together to make it a little more sturdy.

The small one measures 10x4x4

You will need 4 pieces of chipboard cut at 10"x4" and two pieces cut at 4"x4".

You will also need some constructions strips as shown in the photo and on the video. Those will need to be 1"x12" and scored in the center with scor tape on both side close to the score line.

Assemble as show in this photo.

The second one is 11x4x4

You will need 4 pieces of chipboard that measures 11x4 and two pieces that measure 4x4 along with the construction strips as show in the photo.

They all assemble the same way.

The third one measures 12x4x4

You will need 4 pieces of chipboard that measures 12x4 and two peices that measures 4x4 along with the constructions strips.

I cut the letters with my cricut and just clued them on adding collage pauge on top for added protection.

I show how to assemble and how to cover the inside and paid the outside in the video.

Thanks any questions please let us know.

Thank you all!!

I just wanted to jump on and say a very special thank you to everyone who said a prayer, sent a message, left a comment or just gave a thumbs up to our last YouTube video.

I had promised to put up some home/office decor tutorial videos this week but my sweet granddaughter Presley had to have surgery. I didn't want to leave everyone hanging so I just posted a short video note on our YT channel. And from there we were flooded with comments and prayers from all over the world.  It was so wonderful and thoughtful.

Presley's surgery went great and she is recovering very well. She still has some pain and discomfort but thank the Lord it is not worse. Mom and Dad had to go back to work so she stayed with me today at the shop and let me just say she is a little trouper. She is a tough little girl.

I thank God for my grandchildren and their health. And I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank each one of you for your support and prayers.

We will be back tomorrow with a wonderful project we prepaired today, and will hopefully back on track next week.

Thanks again and God Bless
E

Let's Upcycle!!

We will be doing a tutorial on the below photo with a little twist for more storage options, and using products you already have around your house. Let's upcycle!  This is being done for my sweet granddaughter who was such a brave girl yesterday during and after her surgery. Our grandchildren give us a chance to be a "mom" again and try to get it right the second time around lol. If we knew they were this much fun we should have had them first right? lol

So don't miss the video today, it is super easy but looks so great as a home decor' piece. Here is our YouTube channel if you are not already a subscriber please sub and give us feedback. We love to hear from all of you.

From Little Debbie's to Kids Coloring Book

From Little Debbie's to Kids Coloring Book in just a few short steps. This project was so easy and fun and useful for those long summer car rides. If you are like us you need to keep just a little of your sanity therefore anything you have to keep the kids occupied for even a short time is very helpful. This is also a great project for up-cycling. We started with a Little Debbie's cake box and cut it down to the size we wanted and then covered with paper and added our pages.

Check the video out with all the step by step directions. Your box may vary so these dimensions may not fit yours but just adapt to whatever size you want to use.

Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPRPxWAngdQ

The overall size of this book is 4x5x2 which is just the right size for those little hands.
I cut my little Debbie's box down to the size listed above and then scored the spine at 2" instead of the original 3" which was the side width of the box. I use the side of the box as my spine and then the front and back as my front and back covers.

To make the little bag holding the crayons and the candy I just used a sandwich bag and cut it to size, used my fuse tool to close it up again and then put washi around it to reinforce the edges. If you don't have a fuse tool then just use a couple layers of washi, that will hold it good enough.

I made the hidden hing binding, the tutorial is linked under the video on how to do this. I am using some watercolor scraps to draw my images on so they will be thicker than just regular paper and hold up to the coloring of little hands. I also added a pocket to the front and put some extra coloring pages from the documented faith collection there to make sure they had enough to keep them busy.

Note: if you would like to know how I do the coloring pages using the cricut just let me know under this post.

Also comment and subscribe to the video to have a chance to win one of my altered projects.

Thanks so much, E

File Folder Cards

Today we are working on some file folder cards for an invitation to a barbecue we are hosting in a few weeks. I wanted them to be very colorful and summer like. I am using the paper collection from Dear Lizzy called "Happy Place", and yes around the pool in the summer is my happy place. Eating with friends, talking, relaxing, laughing and just having a great time. So this is what we come up with.

The video tutorial is uploading, hope you enjoy! Don't forget to subscribe and leave a comment, you could win one of the projects I make FREE!! Oh and don't forget to follow this blog, sometimes we put things on here that we don't show on the videos :).

Click for video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fBFYIusuXc

Cut your paper at 8.5x5.5 and score on the long side at 4"

Use your envelope punch board (or make a template from a file folder) on punch board start your first punch with the paper in at 3", turn your paper to the opposite end and do the same. Decide which tab you want to use and trim off the other one. Then just decorate as you like. Put a mate on the inside, make a short one like I did on the yellow one and glue the sides together to make a pocket to put a RSVP card in or quotes, sentiments etc.

Make them fun!

Your friends will love them!

Thanks E
